Hello Friends
I wish to bring to your attention that my first feature - RETRIBUTION – was just rereleased for the first time ever on DVD and in celebration of its 25th anniversary since it was first released in 1987. I’m sure that most of you have never seen it and so here is an opportunity to view at home this revenge-themed suspense/thriller about “soul possession” which was inspired at the time by THE EXORCIST.
Also, it is the first film where I play the “taxi driver” which I continued doing as a fun “Hitchcockian” signature in the rest of my features. This movie is also full of special effects which we did the hard way on-camera since this is before computer digital effects and is pretty amazing to see what could be done in those days for just a $1.25-million budget when you’re lean and mean and hungry to make a first film! The music score alone is quite exceptional and will engage and enthrall you.
Finally, if you love movies and enjoy knowing how they are made, this anniversary edition includes a bonus feature of a 2-hour “director’s commentary track” which I recorded earlier this year explaining the thought process of every scene, which is a lot of fun to listen to and is very instructive about how the film was made as you watch it.
You can own this 25th anniversary DVD for just $20 plus shipping anywhere in the world. I’m asking each of you to purchase a copy and own it in your DVD library as I promised my distributor (Code Red) that we will sell out his first pressing and he’ll have to reorder many more times. Here is the direct RETRIBUTION product page: just scroll to the bottom and click on ADD TO CART…it will take you to a PayPal payment page or you can use any credit card you wish fast and easy:

I’m very grateful for your purchase of this DVD which took me two years to make happen. Though it was only available on VHS 25 years ago, it has since become sort of a cult film in the thriller/horror genre world and I would like a new generation of film lovers to enjoy this re-issue. Please help me make it a success and own a DVD copy of this “Guy Magar” first movie.
I thank you in advance for your kind support and enjoy the film…and please let me know your thoughts after you see it. I can promise it will give you an exciting evening of film entertainment and scare the heck out of you and guests!
All the best
Guy Magar

Guy Magar, I enjoyed "Retribution" very much! It was a fun movie to watch and the ending was clever! Dennis Lipscomb as George Miller was a character I cared about and I felt bad for him when he had no control of the possession (Vito). While he was possessed, I thought the special effects were appropriate and wicked at the same time. The revenge scenes were clever and brutal. Magar, your supporting characters were very well thought out and utilized very well for the purpose of George Miller's situation. I think "Retribution" is one of the best horror movies of 1987. This is my favorite Code Red release for 2012. P.S. In the voice of Vito, "One more!"
What a wonderful surprise to see you, the director, say a few words about this release. I bought it sight-unseen when it was released because it looked like another top-notch Code Red release, and it did not disappoint. I confess I did not watch it with your commentary, but will rectify that pronto !
I have your STEPFATHER III on a region 2 disk. Now if I could only find your WEREWOLF series on DVD...
Best regards !
I got my copy in the mail today.
Curious about this title since it seems to be an underrated mid80s drive-in movie.
Ask Code Red to start selling though the normal retailers and I will start buying all their stuff again.
I refuse to spend the horrid prices Code Red asks... don´t worry, I will not download nothing as I´m against it, but I´m also against to pay high end prices.
are we sold out already? i thought selling direct was supposed to be able to keep the titles in print longer? i still want ghost keeper and retribution but both quickly went OOP. are they going to be sold again soon? im sick of watching retribution on my VHS!
I can understand all the aspects that are of significant importance in this task. Nice work.
