CODE RED listen to GOD'S BLOODY ACRE fans!

We recently had a problem with the GOD'S BLOODY ACRE dvd and the disc was recalled and not shipped to most internet stores. Since this product was created many months ago, the disc data was no longer on our hard drive and we'd have to re-do the whole thing from scratch. Since the pre-order was so small & non-existant, we instead decided to release the film with another Wayne Crawford/Andrew Lane film, TOMCATS, in the hopes it would sell more units. The negative and 35mm print were lost on TOMCATS, but Wayne had the "longer version" on a 3/4 inch tape master before the distributor edited the film to get an "R" rating. But for some strange reason on the message boards, the buying public is screaming to find the recalled GOD'S BLOODY ACRE disc to the point of overpaying on ebay for the handful of discs that leaked out and should've been sent back or destroyed. We were amazed that people who don't usually buy CODE RED titles now want this title more than ever. We do listen to the demands and complaints and we would hate to see these scalpers and opportunists rip-off our consumers $275 to buy this film on dvd. So we will release the title again by itself and quickly reconstruct everything, including the controversial "uncensored" Crawford interview and get it on the market asap. You guys want it now & can't wait, so we listened to your cries! It'll be out again within a month to give all the fans what they want, and to stop the scalpers on ebay from selling this title for 40 times the wholesale cost.

Thanks guys! I've pre-ordered the recalled first release and of course I will do the same again.

Will it be EXACTLY the same as the original release? Thanks.

I wish there were uncut original 1.85:1 aspect anamorphic DVDs of Scavolini's Nightmare on EBay for $275... Maybe then you'd get your finger out and release the damned thing instead of ignoring customers who'd buy it even with no extras.

Code Red listens... when it feels like it.

You literally just saved me from spending a $100.00 dollars to a collector. Great guy & a fair price considering what i had placed on an online auction 2 days ago. But If I can save 80.00 bucks then that really helps me out.

I rather have a double bill and wait.

Just out of curiosity, what was the problem with the first pressing ? Damaged data ? The online reviews of the disc didn't point out anything wrong which is why I was surprised when it got recalled.

Anyway, keep up the great work !

Looking forward to pick this one up, what are the date of release ?.

I'd rather have the double feature too. What's really sad is Diabolik is one of those scalpers.

I would like this release to a doublebill since codereds title are expensive unlike anchor bay, synapse, dark sky, kino.

Anonymous 11:54: What r u talking about? Synapse DVDs cost almost ten bucks more than Code Red. lol

great put the film out! dont forgot to put 9 others movies in the same set because code red = crappy budget label. over price shit unlike criterion, synapses, image and cult epic.

Patrick said...

Huh ? budo, you really don't make any sense whatsoever with your statement about pricing and have way too much time on your hands to post such a comment on a blog of a label you seem to love hating.

Dear Code Red,

can we PLEASE have some info on Butcher Baker Nightmare Maker? This (along with Nightmare) is clearly the premier title on your schedule, and the most sought after judging by reader comments. I am equally interested in BBNM, but the lack of updates is infuriating.

I was one of the luck ones that got the first disc. The damm disc freeze up after the end credit! That white guy with a afro screaming jamms up as I am unable to leave the screen to the dvd menu! please fix this problem.

Tomcats was actually pretty damn good. I remember seeing it with
HOTS at the drive-in years ago. I
would not mind seeing a double bill of this and God's Bloody Acre
with the bonus interviews would be excellent.

Any updates on the re-issue of "God's Bloody Acre"?
