Actor John Considine gives Code Red an on camera interview/audio commentary

Veteran actor John Considine was kind enough to grant us not only an on camera interview, but an audio commentary for one of our upcoming titles! The lively commentary track was moderated by HOSTEL producer Scott Spiegel. We acquired the original elements from the vaults of MGM and did a brand new master in Hi Definition from the original camera negatives! It is a very macabre 70's horror film which now looks even more funky in HiDef. We should be scheduling this title for Halloween of this year, as all extras are completed, including an interview with the late directors son. Stay tuned!

Here are some shots of John in HiDef!

Sounds like 'Dr. Death: Seeker of Souls' to me from 1973. If so, count me in! I am amazed MGM let you guys into their vaults. At least, I think that's what I read.

I do hope it's DOCTOR DEATH, and I hope it isn't THE THIRSTY DEAD, another John Considine horror exercise. The latter film is a real drag.

They just added those two screen shots and it's definitely DR. DEATH! Hooray! Those shots look terrific, too!

I do hope, if the release is indeed DOCTOR DEATH SEEKER OF SOULS, that Code Red will use a different cover than the one used for the long out-of-print VHS release. That particular artwork made the film look like a gay porn flick. I'm not homophobic, but few video stores, as well as few video distributors, ever carried that title. I suspect that the cover art scared off some people who would otherwise have carried it. I owned a cult video store for 12 years, but never saw a copy of that VHS release, new or used.
That's too bad, because the film is quite fun.

Are you referring to the VHS from Prism Entertainment? I believe that was the only authentic video release? I used to own it and don't remember the cover looking like a gay porn. I recall it was brown colored and there were silhouettes of a body or two (as souls, I suppose). One may have been a male torso. It didn't really stand out as looking like gay porn, though, at least to me.

Code Red usually uses the original poster art (when available) for their DVD covers. DOCTOR DEATH had a nifty one-sheet. Hope they get that one.

The old VHS used some other artwork painting for the case. It was pretty generic, from what I remember. I used to see that video all the time in the 80's here in L.A. A bunch of stores carried it. Nowadays, it's probably impossible to find.
