Producer/writer Stephen Breimer gives Code Red an on camera interview and an audio commentary for BUTCHER BAKER NIGHTMARE MAKER

The Writer/Producer of BUTCHER, BAKER, NIGHTMARE MAKER, Stephen Breimer, was kind enough to not only give us an on camera interview, but he and co-writer Alan Jay Glueckman had also given us an audio commentary several months back for the film! It was moderated by Mondo Digital's Nathaniel Thompson, and we hope you enjoy what Stephen and Alan have to say about the making of this superb cult thriller.

Awwww another DVD label snoop. Get a life inbred, Code Red isn't going anywhere. And nothing that comes out of your ignorant trap is going to change that.

I hope it gets u so flustered that you choke on your own vomit.

I'm looking forward to this one. I remember reading about Night Warning from various sources when I was younger, including Deep Red. I balked at it because, at that age, the film just didn't sound 'red' enough for me--I was looking for gore and bloodshed. Finally, while in college, I rented it.

What a surprise! Not only was the script unusually good, but the film was nasty and bloody. The protagonists take a back seat to the two real stars of the film: Susan Tyrrell and Bo Svenson. Their characters are horrifying absolutes: Tyrell's with her unflinching insanity and ruthless possessiveness, and Svenson's with his virulent homophobia and obsessive hatred.

Add to that incest, shamelessly sexist and homophobic dialog, dismemberment and Julia Duffy's breasts, and Night Warning earns its reputation as a lost, minor gem of the early eighties.

Night Warning was even nominated for a Saturn Award for Best Low budget film in 1982 (alongside the somewhat similar and very excellent Communion), losing to Fear No Evil.

This is a DVD I'm eagerly awaiting, especially after reading that Susan Tyrrell gets to rant on the extras!

Very eager for this- so it will be under the BBNM title?... my only complaint is that I wish there was a firm release date to look forward to!
