MADMAN RETURNS JUST IN TIME FOR HALLOWEEN

CODE RED DVD is proud to announce the DVD re-release of the cult hit MADMAN! Once a holy grail for horror fans who didn't buy the Anchor Bay release back in 2001, MADMAN is back! We have the same extras (commentary/trailers) from that earlier release, but this time it's an anamorphic transfer, and there are some new on-camera interviews. The dvd will be a limited edition and once it's gone, it's gone. Don't miss the opportunity to buy the film before it's too late. More news to follow!

Glad to hear! Can you also give us an update on Zombie Nightmare, Rituals, Night Warning, and Nightmare In A Damaged Brain?

Woohooh, I then won't "miss the opportunity!" Keep it up, CODE RED!

Good to hear about Madman. I never realized the Anchor Bay DVD was not anamorphic. Any chance of a blu-ray release? Hope you guys release some blu-rays sometime, maybe your best sellers as a test run.

Well, this should come out, if at all, around 2020!!!

How about releasing the wealth of titles you've been promising to for several years now, Norton? You're awfully silent regarding status updates, just keep announcing more stuff. Code Red is the WORST "legit" dvd maker out there, it wins the award for that!

I very much appreciate you Code Red, especially for Pets, Schoolgirls In Chains and best of all- Messiah Of Evil. I've also bought Devil Times Five, Sole Survivor, Trapped, Beyond The Door, The Forest, Love Me Deadly and The Unseen. I will probably even buy Madman again; yes I have the Anchor Bay Edition. What I fail to understand is why you have cancelled Rituals in favour of Mean Johnny Barrows and Death Journey. Please when can we have the following- THE VISITOR, BUTCHER BAKER NIGHTMARE MAKER, THE NESTING, SPASMS and the most anticipated title of all NIGHTMARES IN A DAMAGED BRAIN? I have written glowingly positive reviews for both Pets and Messiah Of Evil on Amazon trying to spread the word to other genre fans.

Great news!! Looking forward to it!

Hey Anon 12:32,

Faggot? Really? I tell you to get some new material and you use the most commonly known insult ever created by inbred bible-thumping alcoholic hicks? Fuck off.

If you have nothing good to say about Code Red, lay off the hard knocks at least. We've heard it before and it's just blatant negativity. They don't owe you anything, it's simply a handy service. Taking too long for you? Fine. Type down your worries every few weeks but refrain from trolling the boards just to spread hate.

Just in time for Halloween... Well at least we are warned that it is going to take some time for this one to come about.

The silence over BBNM and Nightmare is absolutely infuriating and unforgivable given the build up that Code Red have given both titles.

Rather than just ignore those two topics, perhaps CR might claw back some much needed respect if he laid his cards on the table and told us the score.

CR says these releases [general, not these two] don't pay the rent. WELL, maybe if he got his backside in gear and released a couple of the overdue big-hitters rent would get paid and then promises on other releases would be far easier to keep..?

Come on CR - you put your money where your mouth is, and I'll glady put my money where your DVDs are selling - fair eh?!!

sheesh. can't we all just get along? :)

I honestly think... that i would rather give my $50 to $100 dollars, to a seller on ebay or amazon for a new copy of the out of print anchor bay dvd... than to give your company any more of my laboriously, hard earned money... I would rather watch these old classic films on VHS than purchase another product from you.

Knock Knock! hellooooo, is anyone running this blog or this site or even this company?????

(cue creaking door, shaft of light through abandoned attic window and rat scurrying along floorboards).

Code Red is appears to be quickly becoming a ghost town. The only sound here is the whistling wind blowing tumbleweeds past the devoted few who have held hope for many of your releases.

Code Red? Code Dead.

What I want to know is how limited is limited? I really want to get this since I missed out on the Anchor Bay edition, but I'm worried that the limited print, along with Code Red's spotty distribution lately, not to mention the jerks who will buy up tons of copies just to sell them on eBay at insane prices, will mean I'll miss out on it again! For that matter, why is it a limited edition in the first place? I love Code Red, and buy everything you put out, but you're seriously frustrating me (and a lot of others) lately! Get on the ball man!

The people on here slamming the hell out of Code Red are make me laugh!!!They take everything so personally!!!Threatening to buy VHS tapes and discs of Madman on Amazon.com that cost a shitload of money, you go do that!!!You would have to be a Madman to shell out so much money for an inferior release from Anchor Bay,the cover art sucks!!!!Anchor Bay is a real hit or miss company themselves, regurgitating the same version of Evil Dead over and over!!!

Anchor Bay has given us much more than YOU.. Code Red...they have put out almost All Argento Films...and much much more. They did put out the first Madman dvd didnt they? Why are they hit or miss because people are selling Madman dvds on Ebay for 50 dollars...is Anchor Bay at fault for that? I dont wish any ill will on you Cod Red... but you seem to be quite dishonest. I wish you well regardless, and still would not purchase anything from you because of your extreme lack of respect for those who are faithful to supporting your company.... It is amazing how you justify your irresponsibility. All folks probably ask for is a bit of sincerity...not still seeing the add for the "Rituals" dvd on your site..still listed as ...TBA...to be announced.....are you really serious?

yep, Anchor Bay really are full of hot air. But I agree that Code Red needs to confidently affirm it's position in the market place. It is very frustrating when such a promising distributor like Code Red keeps stumbling, especially when fantastic releases such as Butcher Baker Nightmare Maker seem so very close to our fingertips. Alas, once again, this title seems to have been forgotten - some 3 years after being announced. Talk about labor pains!

Despite the abusive and childish posts seen so frequently here on the blog, Code Red has survived with a kind of weary obstinateness that is both admirable and puzzling. The palpable hostility of some blog followers is, at the very least, a testament to the passion of genre fans.

I just hope Code Red can actually commit to updating the blog more regularly (it's currently like a guest comments book at poorly run hotel) and begin performing as an exciting, efficient and, above all, entertaining distribution company.

Truthfully I would love to just know how much longer of a wait for "Rituals" and "Night Warning" because I don't want to spend $20- $30 bucks on an old VHS to have them announced a month later. Plus if the releases are cancelled I just want to know because I never saw either one of these titles and I hear great things about them.

Anchor bay keeps re-releasing the same titles over and over. The Evil Dead series, the Hellraiser movies,Day of the Dead,Dawn of the Dead.Either that or they re-release the same titles on blue underground, like they did with Torso. They deserve credit for the Demons movies but there weren't enough extras on there. They either get it spot on or they completely fuck it up.The best companies are probably Synapse Films and Grindhouse Releasing.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD...UPDATE US ON YOUR SUPPOSED TITLES!
This is getting ridiculous.
So much anger and frustration from Code Red supporters and we still never hear anything.

Madman has been playing on IFC recently in HD. Best it's ever gonna look. I'll pass on the DVD.

yeah I think we'll all be looking elsewhere for these products. Code Red just can't cut it. Will we EVER see Night Waning/BBNM?

Hey Code Red, you guys really need to disable the 'anonymous' posting option so we don't have to have our souls crushed by reading all of these messages from nerds with chips on their shoulders. I read this blog about once every few months, and it's incredible the amount of negativity found on here... Just because of a missed release date or lack of information, the world comes to an end? Come on...

Anonymous said...

I look forward to future releases. I am sure there is a reason for the long period of silence. No need for people to be nasty. They should be happy with what has been released so far. Keep up the good work

Anonymous said...

Perhaps if Code Red actually commits to and delivers a few of the promised and long overdue titles, OR respects it's customers enough to explain why not, then the negativity that 'Gary.B' mentions might ease off... but while Code Red treats both it's films and it's customer base like rubbish, then CR deserves all the bad press it gets.

I agree wholeheartedly with Anonymous 1:14pm................

You get back in return precisely what you project........

This should be the last word on this subject, Bill/Code Red, please "straighten up and fly right"..............

Thanks........

What the Sam Hell are you doing Code Red?
Ive been thru 2 failed marriages, birthed 2 children, and three or 4 hairstyles since you first announced Nightmare in a Damaged Brain!
Please sell your progress to a more able Releasing company. Thx for your earlier releases(beyond door, DEad Pit, dont go in the woods) Please release Nightmare as is.

Well said, Code Red is essentially just a blog at the moment not a distributor - and it's a poorly administrated and effectively untruthful blog at that.
Code Red reminds me of the most spineless of politicians; short arms and deep pockets. I hate to say it but I think great films like Nightmare and Butcher Baker Nightmare Maker will never see the light of day. Yes it's expensive get these out but why the silence? Years, literally YEARS these titles have been languishing with barely a word of explanation or even a quick update.
If Code Red can't make it happen the on-sell the product to someone who can.
