ORIGINAL MOLD OF THE STRANGENESS MONSTER DISCOVERED AFTER 29 YEARS!

The DVD of THE STRANGENESS is now available everywhere for all to enjoy, but little did anyone expect the original monster would resurface after so many years! Deep in the bowels of a forgotten garage in Burbank only a couple of months ago, the original plaster mold of the creature was unearthed by the director. Restoration work on the creature has been done by the original sculptor and co-filmmaker Mark Sawicki. Sawicki has since recast the creature and painted it using the original decaying model as reference. Negotiations are underway with Offloadstudios.com to scan the resurrected creature and offer limited edition full color figures for the collector market. The sudden resurgence of interest in the Strangeness along with Sawicki's current books on effects and animation has led to Mark being asked to perform as an actor in independent features again. His most recent role was the villainous mad clone in Kevin Kutchaver's "Rescue Rocket X5" Also in development is the comedy "House O' Blood" from sheerforceofwill.com Interested parties can contact Mark's rep Vladek Savitskus through the filmingthefantastic.com web site.

Available everywhere..?

That's imaginative, and somewhat less than factual.

funny. ya, their distributor always has a 2-3 week delay before you can actually get their titles easily. and this one now appears to be available at most dvd-stores: amazon, dvd-empire, dvd-pacific, etc.

i got mine from diabolik weeks ago.

Big fucking DEAL!!!!!!!!!!
So, put it on "JEWBAY" and sell it, perhaps the end profits will exceed those garnered through the badly distributed dvd sales of this TURD of a film!!!!!!!!!!

PLEASE go out of business. Let real company like Synapse, Mya, Severin, Darksky, Televista deal with cult films.

What are with these illiterate morons? Hey, at least it proves the competition feels threatened that they hire trolls to spew profanities and so forth. Funniest thing is this idiot mentions Televista as a real company when they are known as being the biggest bootlegger out there, all their transfers stolen from old vhs tapes. The insanity never ends. I liked the Strangeness. A little boring for some of it, but it has a cool low-budget vibe that makes it fun.

Yeah, Televista is horrid and a bottlegging company. These guys just threw all possible cred they could have had out the window with that comment.

Televista is formerly JEF FILMS, he operates out of his basement, probably lives at home with his mommie! He should be reported and put out of his misery, he's bootlegged MANY releases and he makes money on AMAZON selling the garbage, his transfers of old tapes to dvd look worse than the tapes!!! I am sure he's made a lot of money bootlegging LIQUID SKY over the last several years, let's ALL get together and ruin this guy, get him kicked off of Amazon, especially!!!!!!

I created a Facebook group for fans of Code Red DVD, and in just a few weeks I'm at 240 members without ever actually advertising the group. I keep getting e-mails from people asking if there's anyone they can contact at the company to get their questions answered since no one ever responds to the yahoo e-mail (several of mine have gone unanswered as well). Is there anyway to get that e-mail updated or changed so fans of the company won't get so frustrated?

btw - here's the facebook link: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=139870677187

I'm just happy someone puts in the time and effort to bring these classics to dvd. Any asshole who is complaining has no idea how much time and money it costs to do this shit. Keep up the good work code red.

I had to mention this - just purchased Code Red's DVD of PETS , and was appaled by the picture quality , it is almost unwatchable. So much for the promised remastered transfer. There is a disclaimer at the beginning of the film saying that the picture is poor , but code red should have pointed this fact out before i spent my money on the DVD expecting what they had promised originally. I shall be sending it back tomorrow. Shame on you code red , next time keep the public notified into what exactly they are purchasing.

Why don't you strive to be an educated consumer?

I don't remember any promise that PETS was to be remastered. In fact, I remember hearing that the reason for its 3-year delay was that they couldn't find any satisfactory flm element to use and were possibly not going to release it at all because of that. So I guess they eventually just decided to release the best print they could find. I've read some of the reviews and apparently the print has a bunch of jump-cuts and scratches and some other issues (just like what I used to see even for mainstream studio movies in revival theaters in the 70's/80's - even for movies just several years old). So what???

I have not seen the PETS disc myself. If it's scratchy and has jump-cuts, so what? I doubt the negative for this obscure exploitation crap film is sitting around in a temperature-controlled sealed vault somewhere - and it's definitely not owned by major studios so the original materials are probably long deteriorated. This may be the best it will ever look at this point in time.

Don't like this film so I doubt I'll even rent this disc, but I don't see anything wrong with print damage on a film from this low-budget era. Some films may have fared better, some are practically lost. At least a bad print is better than nothing and will keep this film from being completely lost.

Yes, the cocksucking brigade comes out to defend Code Red for a shit transfer (not their first shit transfer, either!), but previously condemn a superior low budget, avant-garde company, Mya Communications, for doing the same thing, though this is less egregious really considering Mya have all ready released MUCH more stuff (obscure and interesting, low budget, non-mainstream) in a short time than Code Red has in years. Accept some legitimate and justified criticism and deal with it like a man, Code Red.

Ha! Mya again! It's pretty obvious where this guy works.

I know this has been brought up many times before, but I really don't understand why Code Red continues to allow these trolls to leave obscenity-filled comments against their company on this blog. It's obvious they work for the competitors or are are just jealous, or some other crazy reason why they spend all their time trying to trash a company they could simply ignore instead if they don't like them.

Some of us fans just come here to get the news and have a decent discussion about some of these titles. I urge Code Red to please start taking editorial control and not publish these idiot troll comments. I assume you are trying to be fair and make this an open forum and let anyone's comments come through, but you must see these trolls are doing this for simple slander reasons. Why you give these morons a free platform to slander you on your own site is beyond me. These are obviously not authentic comments from fans who are upset about something legitimate - they are trolls simply trying to tear your company down (as they probably work for a competitor).

I stop by here to read codered news - not to read stuff from an idiot trashing you and discussing My-a Video or whatever they are called. I don't mind negative comments being published here, as varying opinions are always welcome, but surely you can see a lot of these comments are from trolls. So please don't feed them any longer.

Also I want some legit news and am really getting tired of coming here just to see the same trolls babbling on about useless My-a junk.

It's about quality, not quanity, my boy. That's why MYA is at the bottom of the food chain with Johnny Legend, Cheezy Flicks and Televista aka Jef Films.

Far out I'm blown away that there is a DVD release of this, i have two copies of it on Video (different covers-cool!) and to be honest its not the best film in the world although its a long way from the worst, the monster was pretty cool!
Be nice to see it restored on DVD considering its set in a dark cave, little hard to see on tape.
cheers,
